Welcome to Breastfeeding Experiences!
As we all know, parenting is big business. Manufacturers know that it is all too easy to feel guilty about not providing our babies with the latest equipment and the latest expensive gadget that is designed to make our lives easier. There are many products out there designed with the breastfeeding mother in mind, and this is your chance to have your say about those you have tried.

Reviewing: Tesco My Baby's Breast Pump
Story: I had been looking around for a breast pump for a while and didn't want to spend loads of money as I didn't intend to use it that much, only to pump a bit of milk to mix with baby rice etc. I was shocked at how expensive pumps are: I hadn't seen any for less than £20, not even manual. So I was pretty surprsed to find this one in Tescos for £8ish. I've never used a pump before so I don't have anything to compare it with, but for what I needed, I think it's excellent. Simple to put together, easy to use, and comes with a nice-sized bottle too. For £8 I didn't feel ripped off either.

Reviewing: Breast Buddies Nursing Necklace
Story: I got this on eBay not really expecting it to be much help. My son had a nasty habit of biting during feeds (his teeth ahd just come in) and also pulling my hair. The necklace itself was really nice, lots of colourful beads, and they have a nice touch of allowing you to personalise it if you want to with your baby's name and date of birth. It was also on a good plastic cord, totally unbreakable and able to be sterilised if you need to. It worked brilliantly, as he tugged the necklace instead of my hair and played with it with his free hand instead of biting me. When he's older it will be a good keepsake too, though I'm sure he will be deeply embarrassed by it!.

Reviewing: Mamascarf Breastfeeding Scarf
Story: I cannot recommend this product more highly to mums-to-be or breastfeeding mums. I never leave home without it. I was nervous about feeding in public, but the Mamascarf is discreet, easy to use, comfortable for baby, allows you to still see your baby and gives you additional support when you don't have any cushions or a feeding pillow. I got the black and it's fab as it goes with my whole wardrobe so I didn't need to buy expensive nursing tops. It's really good value for money too.

Reviewing: Breastfeeding cushion from My Brest Friend
Story: This is the cushion that goes round your belly like a life ring. I haven't bought one (at £42.99 in Mothercare, I can't afford it!) but have used a friend's and thought it was fabulous. It's much firmer than a pillow and doesn't slip. It looks a bit silly but my friend says it has stopped her getting backache while feeding so definitely worth it. I'm probably going to get one.

Reviewing: Lansinoh Nipple Cream
Story: Everyone recommended this to me before I started breastfeeding, and I'm glad they did. At £9.99 a tube it's not cheap but believe me, when you have sore nipples, you'd pay double that for this stuff. It's really soothing, especially in the first few weeks when your nipples are at their sorest. And the tube lasts ages, even if you use some after every feed like me. Plus you don't have to wipe it off before you feed so it's really great.

Reviewing: Mothercare Fashion Nursing Bras
Story: I was really relieved to find these as all the others I'd seen looked really hideous and matronly. The clips on the cups are really easy to do, even in the middle of the night with one hand, and at £26 for two, they are much cheaper than a Wonderbra! The only complaint I have is about the rather loud snap they do up with. When your baby is asleep the last thing you want them to hear is a loud snap that signals the end of their feeding time!
